In the login field you place your i-Name. Here your i-Name will be used as an OpenID identifier which is an open standard that allows you to manage the login process for many other sites.
When you see this symbol you can use your i-Name to login. This is a online single-sign-on system. Now you don't need to make a new username and password pair for sites which use openid.

Imagine an email address that you can use for almost anything... and you'd have i-Names. I-Names are identifiers which allow you to interface with multiple services. You can use an i-Name a personal service id. In the very near future you will be able to define how you would like the services you like to use become discoverable by other services, so that way you can use things the way you want to. For example if you have a preferred service provider to hold your photos like flickr or photobucket, you can allow that to be discoverable so that people who look you up can find the correct service.
Because i-Names use a resolution process (much like a domain name) to find out more information about the person, place or thing behind the i-Name. One can have as many services and tags as they want on an i-Name without destroying the original name. i-Names come with a built-in mechanisem to combat the, "I'm moving email service providers, so here's my new address". You have that information discoverable, or with Ouno hidden completely from the end user.
Ouno (ūnō) • Is a privately funded started up, dedicated to providing the best way of allowing people to easily communicate with each other over multiple channels, such as the telephone, postal mail, email and more.
We are pioneers in digital identity, giving people unique personal identity while still allowing privacy and control over aspects of their identity, they have never had before.
There was a time when even major cities had only one area code, when the postman knew your family, when Spam was just arguably a food product. Times change, the channels over which people have communicated have grown.
The result is that you, and people you know, have different identities across these communication channels (phone number vs mailing address). With Ouno can compress all of that information into a single identifier used across channels, called an i-Name
